The Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation Drying Little Tears is supporting the expansion of the day nursery of the Michael School in Rostock.

The evangelical foundation Michaelshof is operating facilities for the care and support of people with intellectual and multiple disabilities. Since 23 years the Michaelshof is also operating a special school including a day nursery for students with learning difficulties where a focus is laid on their intellectual development.

In school year 2013/2014 the special school was transformed into an inclusive school meaning that today severely and mentally disabled children are taught together with non-disabled students.

The Michaeli school receives support from the state to cover personnel and material costs only which means that all investment costs need to be financed by the school itself.

Help was most desperately needed by the day nursery of Michaeli school : They could only provide care for 15 children. Thanks to the financial support of the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation "Drying Little Tears" the nursery could be refurbished and expanded, so that now more than 120 students can be accommodated on a dedicated floor of 700 square-meters.
